Racism? Hatred? France? America?

Wow, how I love to read mindless drivels from ppl like HuntMyAnal and LynnKrapper.

It's really interesting to see the constant mentions of "how the French ppl HATE America". In fact, 50% of their prose is dedicated to this. Not just the posts, the comments keep reminding the reader of it (just in case (s)he lost the plot, ya know).

The remaining 50% is dedicated to explaining how they then feel justify to say they hate the French. Like I once got from a lovely fan of mine: "All french ppl are bastards and should be eliminated, so I feel justified in saying so".

Wow, how can you beat that kind of argumentation skills?

Oh, by the way, this is of course NOT racist. Like RedTigress, Gindy, Noguru and others remind us, we all know the French is not a race, and so statements of the LynnKrapper kind like "the entire French civilization should be eradicated" is NOT in the least racist.

Phew!!! Thank goodness we've cleared this out.

Funny thing though, my dictionary defines "racist" as "someone who discriminates, especially on the basis of race, nationality, ethnicity or religion". Duh... why do these intellectuals dudes keep throwing spanners in the works, I ask you?

Anyway, it kind of puzzled me because while I spent most of my life in Australia, I also spent a good few many years in France and the US as well. And to this day, I yet to have heard one French person saying they "hate Americans".

But of course, I haven't met ALL 60-odd million French ppl, so perhaps there are half a dozen nutcase American haters around.

So, I thought I'd google around, you know, to try get some HATE stats, using keywords like "fuck[insert country of your choice]", "[country] sucks", etc.

Guess what? I haven't managed so far to find ONE French website dedicated to the cause of "All Americans suck" (but I'm sure if keep plugging along, there might be a couple out there).

On the other hand, websites dedicated to hatred against the French returned 27,000 hits.

27,000 websites (need I mention they are all US sites?) are out there, dedicated to this lovely pastime. Oh, and that's just on the *suck/country* category. The *fuck/country* category is also fairly impressive.

Here is a chart I found which gives the HATING score of weblogs around, versus the destination hated “sucking” country.

Oh yes, no doubt: the French ppl are the ones spewing racist hatred. I guess they are all out there blogging in a frenzy hating.... err... hating.... mmmm... they're still looking for a target, I guess.

What's gone wrong with America lately? How come 1/2 the population is turning into nazi racist dicks, and then have the gall to accuse other nations of their own repulsive racist urges?

PS: LynnKrapper and HunterAnal, why don't you kindly both drop dead? You're putting a bad name on America, and since I'm an American too, it makes me really embarrassed. Thank goodness, I have multiple citizenships, and even if I'm mainly Australian I'll keep promoting my French one, just to piss you off :-)

i can explain this to you my darling, we americans are taught from the time we are in diapers that the french are up to no good, that france and all of her people hare americans. it's just like the child raised by members of the klan and is told that blacks are no good and they're all on welfare.

it is only people like us philippe, who question the answers rather than answer the questions, who have the strenght and courage to find out for ourselves rather than blindly accept what we are told.

if i believed all the crap, i wouldn't know you and dianne, and i would be missing out :-)

I know I' shouldn't find it funny in the least, but the chart was wonderful! I sort of disagree with Angie. I think we;re taought more that French folks do in fact tend to not like Americans for some pretty specific reasons, but it ain't close to hate. I'd always heard that it really annoys the French that we Americans don't tend to speak any language except English, and that we seem to look down on the surrender to Hitler, which has always struck me as a matter of self preservation at the time.

That's it in a nutshell as far as the biggies I've ever heard of.

Remember WhyNot, bullies always pick on easy targets and continue as long as they get the response they want. The percentage of American people who really "hate" the French is miniscule and negligable. Ignore the pricks or try to look at it as a badge of honor that you're worth ging after. No ammount of fighting back will stop a machine. These fools are hate machines, but luckily their weapons are unloaded except for smelly but harmless gas. Go upwind.

Yep, the stronger the voice against US foreign policy the stronger the reaction. I was surprised that Canada is right up there. Look for that number to grow as Canada has just announced that we will not be participating in Bush's silly "star wars" redux.:)

Why I'm so excited about that I am going to get me some freesom fries!

"get me some freesom fries ",

LOL, I think a good name would be French Canadian Fries. Or perhaps Brussels Fries, since after all, tis our Belgium friends who invented them.

Yep, look for Canada to get up the SUCK chart. But you guys still got a long way to go to beat the French. I believe you're simply not hateful enough.

Angie, I was never taught to hate the French so I'm surprised to hear that. I guess it depends on what part of the country you come from. I was more than a little bit surprised to see Louisiana get in on the French bashing but they did. I wonder if they stopped speaking french?

I don't know about the rest of the world, but America is full of hate. Those people you mentioned are most definitely racist, ignorant, and bigoted. I wonder when things will ever improve here.

It all goes to Bush's 'you are with us or against us' idea. France is not with  the USA, so thus must be against the USA.
France has stood up for morality in foreign policy (something that it has not always done itself), and the US does not like it.

Hatred and prejudice are the direct result of ignorance. With a last name like "Boudreau" (my great grandfather was French), it never occurred to me to hate France.

But wow, there are certainly people who do. I'm pretty sure that the people running "Fuckfrance.com" et al are the same ones who, when asked anything about policy or history, will give you a look like they've been hit in the face with a frying pan.

"I don't know about the rest of the world, but America is full of hate." - Charone

I respectfully disagree. It has as many left and right wing lunatics, proportionally, as any other country, but on the whole the people of America are no more racist, bigoted, or ignorant than the average citizen of any other country...including France.

Everyone...I mean everyone...is to some extent racist, bigoted, and ignorant. You show it in your blanket accusation that Americans are full of hate. If you truly tried to understand an American's (and I believe that American is now a race, not black, white, etc.) POV, perhaps you would see that it is not hate that drives the average American, but a sincere desire for personal security and a desire to have other people without the economic or social freedoms we have to enjoy them.

That has held true for 55 years, since America was drawn out of it's isolation by WWII. Some administrations use differing approaches (some in direct conflict with the majority of the population), but that has been, and is, the overriding desire of the vast majority of the American populace, as far as I can see.

Here is something interesting. What actually prompted me write this post was a post by HunterAnal on tBlog. For those of you not familiar, tBlog is a small close-knit blogging system where I've hung around for a long time.

This very article I wrote here, I also crossposted to my own blog on tBlog, and this is what HunterAnal replied to me there:

“since you infultrated by blog with your Liberal "i hate america and i couldnt take it so i moved to Europe" i will return because I am something you gave up. An American who loves Ameirca, i do !sue me! i guess loving your own country and despising those who insult it is racist. then ur little French pals are just as guilty as a I am. and how about you getting a Dictionary because last time i checked you can not fill in French as a race! your an idiot bye
and wow i did not even have to cuss(like you) to get my point across!”

Here is in turn what I replied back - I hope it's the last I hear from him, but prolly not:

Reply to: HunterParsenal

"i hate america and i couldnt take it so i moved to Europe"

You're really so fuckin' dumb it beats my imagination. The word "hate" must be the only one you really know - prolly explains why it's only one you can spell right.

- 1. not only do I NOT hate America, I do not hate ANY country. A concept obviously foreign to you.

- 2. I do not carry any blind *racist* hate. By this I mean hatred directed at the ppl en masse, as in saying "I hate all Americans" or "I hate all the French", the latter being something LynnKramer and Noguru have said openly and clearly in their own posts at least a dozen times.

- 3. I'd say at least 80% of my friends are Americans.

- 4. America is one of my 3 homes.

Only just here on tBlog, I have more friends than you probably have in your real life. Apart from a couple of Canadians, they are all Americans. Why don't you go ask them I they think I hate America or Americans? Don't you find that a bit strange, they I have so many American friends, and yet you are the only cretin who claims I hate America?

Now, I do hate some ppl, but it's got nothing to do with whether they are French, American or Chinese. I mostly hate racist assholes and religious bigots who advocate war and murder under the cover of holiness, like Bush for instance. Lastly, I hate politicians who profiteer of their mandate to rip off their citizens and fill their own pockets, like the Bush cronies, and the French gov Raffarin's cronies. I'm sure they abound in other countries too, but these 2 lots are the ones I'm familiar with.

Go back read your own idiotic blog: you are the one who keeps claiming all French ppl hate America. I present you here the evidence to the contrary and if fact that if there is racist hatred going on somewhere, it's pretty ripe in America. It doesn't mean ALL Americans are racist assholes, but that there is a significant problem. Hell, if you can't find ONE French site dedicated to hating American, but you can find 27,000 US ones dedicated to hating France, then it doesn't take much of a brain to draw the conclusion there IS a fairly rampant racism problem in the US.

But no, all you can do, is repeat your same stupid blind racist shit.

Yep, you're a true dumbfuck. And yes, I hate dumbfucks too.

I am American, Buckwheat and one who has lived in France for 5 years now. You don't know the America I know and have experienced first hand. The only thing you are right about is American desire for 'their' personal security. Most and I mean the majority of Americans don't give a damn about the rest of the world. This blog is a small example. Because we put this together with people from other parts of the world topics about countries other than the US will get a bit of attention. But, as Whynot and I have seen on our other blogs anything to do with countries outside the US get zilch attention unless it effects the US. You can post a picture of starving African child sitting in the middle of the desert with a vulture waiting for it to die and no one will have a word to say. I could go on as I have tried it all. Americans for the most part do not want to hear about what they are not doing. For that matter take a cruise around the blogs we call 'facist assholes' and come back and tell me about their concern for the rest of the planet. They have a big following and they are only a few. Not only do they not care about the rest of the world they don't care about the needy within their own population. America's disdain for the rest of the planet has grown since we have called her war on Iraq illegal and inhumane. We experience it everyday and no it is not just a few crazies.

Yes Dianne!!!

You know, that thing about easy targets rings sort of true. I can't help but think back to one of Mike Moore's finest - Canadian Bacon. "Now that the Soviets and the cold war are history, who are we going to fight? how are we going to close down all the weapons producing plants, and lay off all those people? Let's find a new enemy!"

I wonder if anyone can show me a point in history (at least the last 50-60 years) when America did NOT have an enemy somewhere? When the American government was NOT trying to scare the crap out of it's own people? Nazis, Communists, Terrorists, there's always someone!

France, Iraq, it's all the same issue.

Iraq is now "the enemy". What happened to Bin Laden? I'll tell you - now the rest of the Muslim world is an enemy too, or didn't you notice?

And because France said "Go F yourself Bush" in that delicious accent, (and face it with the war that's exactly what he did!) now he's pissed.

Sometimes I wonder if some of these bloggers are getting paid to put up this kind of bullshit, in an attempt to spread the damn propaganda. hah, yeah, propaganda in the states, we all thought we'd never live to see the day, but remember McArthy?

Maybe they're getting paid, maybe they're not right in the head, or maybe they're getting paid to influence those who are not right in the head.

Perhaps the only complaint I have with this piece, Why Not, is that you're needlessly scaring yourself :) if you search for "france suck" google will return the blogs that defend you if they quote and then fire back at those idiots :) True?

"fuck france" people are a minority, so give Americans some credit for common sense... and America give France some respect! Play nice kids!

Hey Anna,

Great to see you, and thanks for your thoughts - you're spot on, as always.

""fuck france" people are a minority, so give Americans some credit for common sense ",

I know, my friend, and I DO give Americans credit for common sense. Like I mentioned, the huge majority of my friends are Americans. I was simply pointing that this "minority" is significant enough and growing. I bump into them every day, and even when I don't look for them, they come look for me. After a while, it DOES get boring and irritating.

But you're right, and like most of the other commentors here said, I should just ignore them. Which I manage to do 99% of the time :-)

Anna, because we blog from France we catch it and see it more than others do I imagine. You're probably right about some of them being sponsored. Because I blogsurf in order to get the site seen I can't help but run into these sites and it's always lovely when you see your name running throughout the blog and the comments. I usually take a break for a couple of days when I start feeling the urge to kill. ;)
